Defect Description

Soaring Helmet Corporation (Soaring) is recalling certain Stealth Phantom helmets, part numbers 8300 and 8351, in sizes extra small through XXL, in all sizes and graphics, manufactured April 1, 2013, to December 30, 2014. The affected helmets may not adequately protect the wearer from penetration injuries in the event of a crash. As such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."

Consequence / Hazard

By wearing a noncompliant helmet, the user may not be adequately protected in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Proposed Solution

Since the helmet purchasers are unknown, a notification was placed on the Stealth website on May 4, 2016. Retailers will exchange the helmets for a different Stealth helmet or offer a refund, free of charge. Owners may contact Soaring at 1-425-656-0683.
